Importance of Packaging for Event Loads
The logistics process has became more sophisticated over the years and so has the packing. With the increase in technology, packaging has also evolved from mere cardboard boxes to devices endowed with technology, all to further facilitate the logistics universe. If quality of the packaging is already important for the safe transport of conventional loads, imagine when we speak of event loading! Thinking about the importance of packing for loads of events, WAIVER team has created this content especially for you! Check it out!
Many events rely on the transportation of high value cargoes such as sound equipment, stage lasers, sophisticated electronic displays, display parts, expensive and delicate machines, car prototypes… The proper packaging function is protecting goods from possible damage and breakdowns. WAIVER teams, who perform the door-to-door transport of this type of cargo, know that all care is little!
The exhibitor counts the entire load
To make an event happen sharp on scheduled time, all processes must be mastered to minimize errors. Imagine if in an event with the size of Rock in Rio, from whose logistics WAIVER has been looking after since 1991, a producer receives boxes with detected malfunction? The damage can be very high because some types of equipment may not have a similar one to replace it locally and immediately. Proper packaging – both primary and secondary – is essential to minimize risks of damage during the course. When we talk about a temporary importation, the load must return to the origin same as inbound: in perfect conditions.
Protection against possible accidents
Loads that use Brazilian highways are constantly exposed to poor road conservation, climatic conditions such as holes, floods … There are several problems with which Brazilian logistics companies learn to deal with. Well-projected and designed packaging can reduce the impacts of cargo during its transport, giving even a greater security to the company that has hired the local logistics services.
Each product, one type of packaging
Each product has a peculiarity and therefore needs to be transported in specific packaging types. Generally, a product can have up to four levels of packaging, to make sure it will not be damaged. Fragile, easy-to-break objects such as electronic and electrical equipment and glazing need to be transported with some padding material such as special foams, in addition to the use of paper angles, bubble plastic foil, styrofoam balls inside boxes etc. Usually styrofoam, bubble wrap, corrugated board, plywood, aluminum and other types of plastic are used. For perishable cargoes, it is important to think of a thermal insulation, and even in a refrigerated vehicle, use of dry ice in many cases etc. The outer marking in the boxes brings important information such as: do not stack, do not wet, fragile etc. Usually these external markings on the larger boxes use images that follow international standards for a better understanding of their meanings. Electronic equipment travels into ‘flight cases’, which made it possible for the big bands to start sending their stage equipment to the countries of their biggest tours and helped to reduce the damage caused by faults in electronic equipment!
WAIVER has been in the market since 1989, and has become, over the years, a national and international reference in excellence in the work with logistic projects involving special import and export regimes.
